Where do the p50/p95 latency and availability numbers on /status come from?
Every metric on this page is queried directly from our production ClickHouse request_log table via GET https://api.tiktokapi.io/v1/status (cached for 60 seconds). Client-side errors (HTTP 400 missing parameter, 401 missing key, 402 zero balance, or 429 per-account rate limit) are excluded from gateway failure counts so availability reflects real upstream and gateway health.
Why are Gateway p50/p95 and Uncached Upstream p50/p95 reported separately?
TikTokAPI.io runs a two-tier memory + Redis edge cache (60s TTL with background stale-while-revalidate) that serves repeated video/profile/ad lookups in 1–15ms. Uncached Upstream p50/p95 isolates cold requests (cache_hit = 0) that perform live device-signed TikTok fetches so engineering teams can budget accurate timeout thresholds.
Am I charged credits if an upstream TikTok request times out or returns 5xx?
